Thin-coated cylindrical pressure vessels. Thermal stresses. Energy and deformation work \u2013 energy theories \u2013 Principle of minimum energy deformation \u2013 Castigliano method \u2013 applications. Failure criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Laboratory Exercises: Tensionaltesting, Impacttesting, Fatigue testing, Deformation Measurement, Hardness Testing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEARNING OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The students attending this course gain the basic knowledge of the Strength of Materials necessary for the assessment of stresses, deformations and strength of uniaxial elements in uniaxial loading as well as in pressure vessels. Ability to solve static indefinite problems, ability to choose and use different failure and energy theorems.
