Analysis and Design of circuits. Basic concepts of circuits. Kirchhoff\u2019s\u00a0 Laws. Circuits with sources and resistances.\u00a0 Operational amplifiers. Dynamic elements and circuits of first and second order in transient state.\u00a0 Alternative current circuits analysis using phasors (complex numbers).\u00a0 Three-phase circuits and power systems.\u00a0\u00a0 An introduction to electrical installations, regulations, safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Electrical Machines<\/strong>.\u00a0 Electromagnetics and Electromechanics.\u00a0 Transformers.\u00a0 Operational principles of rotating electrical machines. Structure, models, applications of the main types of electrical machines: Synchronous machines. Induction motors.\u00a0 Direct current Machines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEARNING OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course constitutes a first, introduction to the basic notions of the theory and practice of electrical circuits and machines. Upon successful completion of the course the student will be in position to:<\/p>\n<p>Analyze and design simple DC circuits.<\/p>\n<p>Analyze circuits involving operational amplifiers.<\/p>\n<p>Perform analysis of first and second order circuits in transient state.<\/p>\n<p>Perform analysis and simple design of AC and three-phase circuits.<\/p>\n<p>Learn the basics for electromagnetism to be used in electrical machines study.<\/p>\n<p>Model and analyze the real transformers and use them<\/p>\n<p>Model and analyze the main types of electrical machines namely Synchronous machines.
