  1. Introduction to mechatronic systems<\/li>\n
  2. Mathematical representation and response calculation for basic mechatronic systems<\/li>\n
  3. Basic notions of the Laplace and Fourier transforms<\/li>\n
  4. Mechatronic system synthesis using subsystems (components)<\/li>\n
  5. Principles and specifications of mechatronic design<\/li>\n
  6. Diodes and applications<\/li>\n
  7. Bipolar transistors, field transistors, and applications<\/li>\n
  8. General principles of sensors and actuators, step motors<\/li>\n
  9. Logical circuits and applications<\/li>\n
  10. Microprocessors and digital \/ analog communication with subsystems<\/li>\n
  11. A\/D and D\/A signal conversion and basic digital signal processing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    LEARNING OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The course constitutes a first, comprehensive, introduction to the basic notions of the theory and practice of mechatronic systems. Upon successful completion of the course the student will be in position to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Identify and describe mechatronic systems and their functioning<\/li>\n
    • Develop mathematical models for simple mechatronic systems<\/li>\n
    • Analyze mechatronic systems by computing their responses in the time and Fourier (frequency) domains<\/li>\n
    • Analyze the operation of electronic subsystems (diodes, transistors)<\/li>\n
    • Explain the basic operating principles of sensors and actuators<\/li>\n
    • Explain the functioning and role of the microprocessor<\/li>\n
    • Explain A\/D and D\/A signal conversions and elementary and basic digital signal processing<\/li>\n
    • Perform the preliminary design of a simple mechatronic system through proper selections<\/li>\n
