Principles of lean manufacturing, warehouse<br \/>\nmanagement systems, material flow optimization<\/li>\n<li>Challenges and future trends in material handling systems: automated warehouses, material handling<br \/>\ntechnologies, the role of artificial intelligence and robotics<\/li>\n<li>Safety and ergonomics in material handling systems: common hazards, best practices for creating safe work<br \/>\nenvironments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>LEARNING OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course is an Optional course and is offered by the Division of Design &amp; Manufacturing in the 10th Semester of the<br \/>\nprogram.<br \/>\nCourse Objectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognition of the importance and role of material handling machines and systems in modern technological and<br \/>\nsocial systems<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the main concepts, theory, and methods for designing flexible material handling systems, the<br \/>\nconcepts of flexible manufacturing, and the selection of appropriate methods and technological equipment<\/li>\n<li>Understanding and analysis of the different types and categories of loads, machine conveying machines and<br \/>\nsystems, and their modes of operation<\/li>\n<li>Highlighting the importance of sustainability, safety, and cost optimization in modern systems by integrating<br \/>\ntechnologies from the 4th Industrial Revolution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the types of material handling systems, the respective equipment, and the scientific principles related to<br \/>\ntheir operation<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate and apply basic scientific methods for the design and implementation of handling systems, taking into<br \/>\naccount their safety and efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Design and calculate the main components of a material handling system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":11551,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"msc_category":[],"courses_cat":[1673],"class_list":["post-35516","courses","type-courses","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","courses_cat-design-manufacturing-10th-semester-optional"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
