Construction of finite difference approximations. Discretization of first and second order derivatives. Temporal discretization. Explicit and implicit numerical schemes. Boundary conditions.<\/li>\n<li>Properties of Numerical Methods: Consistency condition. Truncation error. Stability condition. Convergence of numerical schemes.<\/li>\n<li>Iterative Methods: Solving systems of equations.<\/li>\n<li>Numerical methods for ordinary differential equations: Linear multistep methods.
