Project Management
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course aims to educate undergraduate students in the subject of Project Management, which constitutes a necessary background of knowledge for the modern engineer with horizontal application in a number of fields of employment and falls within the broader area of Decision Making. The purpose of the course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge, to inform them about the approaches and to “equip” them with tools related to project management. The course offers a comprehensive approach to how a project (technical, information, etc.) will be designed, organized and monitored in terms of time and resources. The course aims to cultivate skills necessary for the labor market in the modern era as well as to provide a supportive framework for reliable decision making. Under this course, the students are expected to:
- Understand the concepts of project management and the project life cycle
- Understand the importance of valid and timely project planning, the uncertainties and risks involved
- Deisng projects and control/monitor their execution in relation to the objectives and time, cost and quality constraints
- Understand time planning and resource planning
- Identify and Manage risks during project execution
- Understand, interpret and monitor project plans
- Evaluate the impact of the resulting solutions in a comprehensive manner
- Use modern computational tools to structure and solve project management problems as well as analyze their solution

Section 4: Scheduling, Basic concepts – Terminology, Logical Relations – Connections, Logic Diagrams – Project Network, Diagrams by arrows, Diagrams by nodes, Network Resolution – Earlier & Later Times
Section 5: Gantt Chart. Critical Path Method. Scheduling under uncertainty. PERT method
Section 6: Resource Planning, Resource categories, Resource allocation, Resource overallocation, Resources leveling, Resource-Time-Cost relationship, Time compression
Section 7: Project Budgeting. Budgeting Techniques. Cost Reporting Basis. Cash Flow Statements
